Nagado-taiko


When you mention "taiko" the nagado style is what usually comes to mind. Nagado-taiko are made by carving out one piece of wood. The woods used for the body can be divided into two broad categories: keyaki(the premier taiko making wood) and meari. Meari is a broad term referring to woods that can include camphor, house chestnut, send and bubinga.
